Hugh Newell Jacobsen

Hugh Newell Jacobsen, Architect

This book documents the three decade-long collaboration of one of America's finest architects, Hugh Newell Jacobsen and a great architectural photographer, Robert Lautman.  Over 50 works are presented chronologically  including Bolton Square, the Renwick Gallery, Elliot House, the Arts and Industry Museum, Tidewater House and Mendoza House.

A probing intro by Vincent Scully traces the influence of Louis Khan and Phillip Johnson in Jacobsen's work and praises the "instinct for precision, clarity and elegant formality" so evident in all of his projects.

Richly illustrated 352 pages, published by AIA Press, 1988.
